After days of relaxing by the turquoise waters and colorful reefs of Marsa Alam, I wanted to see a different side of Egypt — something more authentic, more local. So I joined a half-day city tour to El Quseir, a historic coastal town about 80 km north of Marsa Alam, known for its ancient port, narrow streets, and friendly atmosphere.
What I discovered was a place where history, culture, and daily life blend beautifully — a peaceful town that still whispers stories from centuries past.
